I need to prepare my heart if I want a new relationship. I need to let go of the past completely and stop dwelling on my past relationships. I need to get my mindset ready for a new one. I cannot be ready for a new relationship if my thoughts and dreams are still occupied by the old one. If I were to find a new girlfriend without being ready—while still thinking about my ex—it would be very painful. That is why God is preparing me, even though I long to feel love right now.
